Lady Vikes Pick Up Fourth Win

The Calvary Chapel Sabres of Orrington came to Danforth looking to pick up a win. They took the lead, but East Grand came back to collect the 37 - 24 win.

The game started slow for Coach Jerry Adams team as they trailed 7-4 after a period.

In the second period, senior Marie Gilman started to heat up as she hit two threes

The banged up Lady Vikings had started to turn up the defensive pressure, forcing the younger visitors ( no seniors ) into making some turnovers. They took a 16 - 13 lead into the locker room and would never look back.

They played one of their best defensive periods of the year in the third, holding the visitors scoreless.

Meanwhile the Lady Viking offense was starting to click. Sophmore Allie McKay was running the point and feeding her team mates as four Lady Vikes broke into the scoring column this period, highlighted by two nice jumpers from the left elbow by Elisha Dodge

The Lady Viking extended their lead to 26-13 after three. Calvary made a small run in the fourth period, but could not cut into the lead. Paula Osnoe hit a three from the corner and Gina Zaneldin scored on a drive to the hoop to keep the Sabres from gaining any momentum.

East Grand won 37 - 24. Gilman led the way with 13. Dodge added 8, Osnoe 7, Zaneldin 6 and McKay finished with 3.
