The coronavirus has claimed another big event in the state of Maine. The 2020 Maine Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony, scheduled to take place in August in Bangor, has been canceled.
MBHOF executive director Tony Hamlin says because of the uncertainty of what the landscape will look like in August, the MBHOF decided to cancel the 2020 ceremony and this year’s class will become the Class of 2021. The induction ceremony will take place next August.
Friends and family of inductees, from all over the nation, come to the Cross Center in Bangor each August to honor Maine’s best in basketball.
NOTE: MBHOF’s Tony Hamlin will be a guest on a new Thursday night show streaming on WHOU.live starting at 7pm hosted by Dale Duff. The weekly show will feature top sports personalities from around the state of Maine.
