4th of July Fireworks in Houlton

Modified plan to be used

We are pleased to announce that the community has created a modified plan for fireworks on the 4th of July that is COVID compliant.  While the new location is different than those used previously for Midnight Madness or the Fair, it will allow for people to view the display from almost anywhere in the local area.

Fireworks are planned to be dispatched from the Military Street Baptist Church property (The Church on the Hill) and orchestrated by Central Maine Pyrotechnics (CMP),  a professional pyrotechnics company based in Hallowell.  The display will take place at 9:20 PM on the 4th pending approval from the Fire Marshal.

This fireworks display will be one of just a few being organized around the State and benefits from the geography of Houlton.  The Church on the Hill sits a the top of Drake’s Hill and is one of the highest points within the town.  The type of fireworks being used will allow for optimum altitude and maximum viewing radius.  There will be no public allowed at the top of Drake’s Hill; however, viewing will be ideal for many miles.

To remain compliant, the community is being asked to view in small groups at home and not to congregate in public areas where more than 50 people can assemble.  The cooperation of the community is greatly appreciated in keeping everyone safe and abiding by the current State of Maine COVID guidelines.

Huge thanks go out to the entire community for making these fireworks possible!  If you would like help support these fireworks and make this the best display ever, you can can contribute here.  Thanks again for your support of Houlton!!
