Bilodeau Wins Inaugural ‘Maine Event’

The Test To See Who Is Best

And the best golfer in the state of Maine, regardless of being an amateur or pro is…amatuer Brian Bilodeau from Auburn.

The first-ever ‘Maine Event’ 36-hole tournament played at Augusta CC and Waterville CC came down to a one shot win for Bilodeau over fellow amateur Caleb Manuel.

The Maine State Golf Association invited the top pros and amateurs, men and women players, to play in the same event and it seems to have been a big success.

Bilodeau fired rounds of 70 – 67 for a 137 total. Manuel had a putt on the final hole to tie but missed and finished at 138.

Jeff Seavey (Rockport) was the top scoring professional with a score of 139. Falmouth pro Shawn Warren, who just came off playing in the PGA Championship in San Francisco, finished tied for third among the pros.

Newcastle’s Bailey Plourde was the top women’s amateur player with a 155 total.
