News Release – Oakfield Fire and Shootings

State Police are looking for a Houlton man this morning in connection with a suspected shooting, the deaths of two people and three separate fires that have taken place early this morning in Oakfield and Island Falls, in southern Aroostook County. The bodies of a man and woman were discovered inside a house in Oakfield at 331 Oakfield-Smyrna Road by firefighters who responded to that fire scene before dawn. Two other fires were reported in Island Falls at Katahdin Forest Products and a pickup truck, at a third location. The fires are being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

State Police are looking for 32 year old Matthew Davis of Houlton, who is considered armed and dangerous. Davis is 5’9” tall, weighs 165 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone seeing him should call State Police in Houlton at 532-5400, or 911 immediately.
