All trails lead to Millinocket, Maine and the 2017 Trails End Festival on September 15, 16, & 17. Join us for three days of FREE live music, food, and fun!

2017 Festival Schedule
Fri 7:00 AM – Hard Core Project
A yearly Trails End Festival tradition and a way to give back to the Appalachian Trail. Work on the AT, earn a Trails End Hard Core patch, and enjoy lunch from the Appalachian Trail Cafe. It is a hard day’s work but a lot of fun!! To register call the AT Lodge at 723-4321.
Fri 7:00 AM – North Light Gallery “Paint-Out”
Trails End Festival “Paint Out” sponsored by North Light Gallery. Come to the Katahdin region and paint in the wilderness! Book a room early and stay for the weekend. The day begins after 7:00 am on Friday, morning, Sept. 15th at North Light Gallery, pick up a bag lunch and a partner and paint for the day at your choice of any number of places. You will receive a chart of 25 locations with maps if you are not familiar with the area. Return to the gallery anytime before 8:00pm on Friday and prepare your work for hanging in the gallery on Saturday, the 16th. Registration is $25 per person and interested artists should contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call Marsha at 207-723-4414 for registration form. Please register prior to September 8th. For lodging suggestions, from camping to plush, contact the Katahdin Area Chamber of Commerce at 207-723-4443.
Fri 5:30 PM – 5th Annual Chili Cook Off
You be the judge!!! Taste all the chili and cast your vote for your favorite. The winner will receive a trophy to display in their business or organization for the year, along with bragging rights for the best chili in the area. Proceeds benefit the Trails End Festival. $5 donation to taste appreciated!
Sat 10:00 AM – All Trails Lead to Katahdin Parade
Join the parade and represent your favorite trail. Parade begins at 10:00 am from Stearns HS (line up at 9:30 am). The parade will go down Central St. to Penobscot Ave. to Veteran’s Memorial Park. Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade. ATV’s, Hikers, Walkers, “Paint Out” Artists, Children join in the fun iwth your bikes, wagons or scooters, Snowmobilers tow your sleds, water enthusiasts let’s see those canoes, kayaks or white water rafts. We encourage all trails to be represented in the parade
Sat 9:00 AM – Hike the Bait Hole
Meet at the bandstand in the park and join local trail expert Don Nodine for a hike on the Bait Hole Trail. This hike will last approximately 60-90 minutes
Sat 10:00 AM – North Light Gallery Open House
“Paint Out” artists Open House at North Light Gallery from 10:00am to 6:00pm with light refreshments.
Sat 12:30 PM – Homemade Pie & Cake Auction
Each year local citizens and volunteers bake their best pies and donate them to the festival pie auction and local auctioneer, Kermit Cote, auctions them off. Join in the fun and soothe your sweet tooth with a homemade pie, cake or other goodies. Proceeds to benefit the Trails End Festival. Submitting a pie or cake for the auction? Drop it off at Appalachian Trail Lodge by 10:00 am
Sun 10:00 AM – Rubber Ducky Race
The Duck Race is back for this year’s Trails End Festival, Sept 16-18. Ducks will be on sale in Veteran’s Park on the 4th of July, at the Katahdin Area Chamber of Commerce office through the summer and at the Trails End Festival. Ducks are up for adoption for $5.00 a piece or adopt a quackpack (3) for $12.00! Prizes for 1st, 2nd ,3rd and last Duck over the finish line. The Ducks will take the plunge, Sunday, Sept. 18th at 10:00 am from the Central St. Bridge and race to Crandall Park. All proceeds benefit The Trails End Festival.
