Kendall James BIO
Despite every advantage, Kendall James still managed to come up the hard way– from the bottle clubs and roadhouses of Northern Maine, to Nashville, and to the stage of the Kerrville Folk Festival, where he was a 2006 New Folk finalist. He has traveled, performed, and honed his songwriting craft, well below the popular music radar for over over thirty years now. Serious guitar chops, powerful vocals, and lean, intelligent lyrics combine to make a Kendall James performance an intense experience on several levels. He has appeared with, or opened for many of his heroes– including Greg Brown, Richard Thompson, John Prine, and John Mayall. Whether he is ripping the strings off his Stratocaster fronting a 9-piece blues band, or performing on solo acoustic guitar, his leave-it-all-on-the-stage attitude will have you grooving and thinking to yourself– “Where the hell has this guy been hiding?”
