Powell, 3 Other Golfers Tied For MSGA Lead

A Bunched Leaderboard After Day 1

It’s a crowded leaderboard after day one of the 101st Mane Amateur Golf Championship at the Biddeford-Saco CC.

Former Bangor High School, now a Duke University golfer Drew Powell and Presque Isle golfer Jon Humphrey are two of the four players tied for the lead.

Both golfers shot 1-under par 70, as did Alex McGonagle (Val Halla GC) and Armand Ouellette (Biddeford-Sace CC).

Defending champ Cole Anderson from Camden bogeyed the first hole but is in a group of four players who are one shot back at even par 71

Four more golfers are just two shots off the lead with 1-over par 72.

After day two play today, the top 40 scorers will advance to the final round on Thursday.
