The Lockdown Trio Live in Concert

February 16, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$25.00

The Carleton Victoria Arts Council proudly presents The Lockdown Trio, 7:30 pm [Atlantic time], Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Weldon Matthews Theatre (Carleton North High School), Florenceville-Bristol, N.B.

Two master pianists and one award-winning drummer feeding off of the other’s energy. Each capable of carrying the song but sharing the musical pallet with the others to intensify the soulful blues that these men call home. The result is a groove like no other.

Comprised of Chris Kirby, Kim Dunn, & Geoff Arsenault, each of these front men is also a professional sideman, bringing their own unique harmony and accent styles to offer a truly dynamic show.

If you’re into east coast music, chances are you’ve heard a Chris Kirby song or production lately. The Norris Arm, NL native has songs on recent records by Matt Andersen, The Once, Tim Chaisson, The East Pointers, and much more. His song work in 2016 earned Kirby the inaugural MusicNL Ron Hynes Songwriter of the Year award. With 10 ECMA nominations and 5 MusicNL wins to his name, Chris Kirby is a classy and stylish musician with a playful and mischievous side, and can out-rascal the best – and worst – of ’em . . . without even wrinkling his suit.

North Sydney’s Kim Dunn has been working on a successful music career for 30 years now; with a brief four year reprieve studying Jazz at ST. FX. Kim was the recipient of the first ECMA Musician Special Achievement Award for his work as a singer, songwriter, producer, arranger, musical director, and pianist. In addition to producing, musical directing and arranging credits, Kim has worked with the who’s who of East coast artists including, Rita MacNeil, Bruce Guthro, Laura Smith, Jimmy Rankin, Heather Rankin, Matt Anderson, Meaghan Smith, Dave Gunning, George Canyon, and many others.

Kim’s latest recording, “Inspiration”, offers listeners an indelible collection of heartfelt, rootsy tunes anchored by a pitch-perfect tenor delivery and incomparable musicianship. This music is made to last and only gets better with each listen.

Drummer, singer, songwriter, performer, and illustrator Geoff Arsenault is a uniquely talented, multifaceted artist with a funky, soulful sensibility. Multiple nominee and winner of the 2006 best drummer in the national Maple Blues Awards, Arsenault is known for his generous and harmonious style and distinctive musical contributions to multiple genres.

A long-time collaborator with musicians ranging from Ray Bonneville to Dutch Mason, Mary Jane Lamond to Matt Anderson, Arsenault’s two solo albums, “This Ain’t No Fiction” and “Voodoo Baby Rattle” have been celebrated by fans and critics alike.
