Make plans now to attend The Pelletier & Lovejoy Jazz Ensemble on Saturday evening, May 13thon the Unitarian Sanctuary Stage. This promises to be an amazing show. The group has expanded their lineup since they appeared at the Houlton Coffeehouse earlier this year and we’re excited to have them perform upstairs on the sanctuary stage (where the acoustics are much improved!). Houlton’s very own David Wells also joins the ensemble, although his photo doesn’t appear on the poster. Dancing is encouraged during the show as the parlor space lends itself to movement. When the Pelletier & Lovejoy Jazz Ensemble starts to groove it may be difficult to sit still. The show starts at 7PM. The Cup Cafe will be open before the show with specialty desserts and will also be open during intermission downstairs and on the main floor. The menu is included below. Advanced tickets are available at the Cup Cafe or The County Co-op & Farm Store in Houlton. See you at the show and bring a friend! It’s also Mother’s Day weekend so keep that in mind.

Originally from New York Tri-State area, retired Connecticut State music educator and former guidance counselor, Cori Lovejoy has since the 1980’s performed, arranged, conducted, and produced programs in musical theater, commercial, jazz, and sacred music. Cori relocated to Aroostook County to be near family and enjoy pursuing musical and other artistic endeavors.
Married musical duo, Chris and Shelby Pelletier share a passion for music of many genres but especially jazz and are so excited to be collaborating with the talented jazz pianist, Cori Lovejoy! They are both from Northern Maine, born and raised, and love making music together. Chris started playing drums in High School and has since played drums in many local bands over the past 20+ years including Rock Candy, Turning Point, and Barefoot Brotherhood, and is a talented songwriter and guitarist in addition to percussion. Shelby started singing in grade school and fell in love with jazz music in her late teens while taking a history of jazz course in college. She is an artist and art therapist and operates The Common Gallery in Presque Isle, an art gallery which supports local artists and crafters in Aroostook County.
Cori and Shelby began exploring playing jazz together in 2021 and love experimenting with challenging up tempo tunes that they both really love!
The group added Carl, David and Jon since their appearance at the Houlton Coffeehouse in January. It’s an incredible lineup!!
