Attend Open Farm day to learn about the value of Maine agriculture and how to support it year-round!

Open Farm Day is an annual family adventure for the public learn about the business of agriculture. Open Farm Day gives families the chance to visit local farms throughout the state the fourth Sunday in July.

Farms around the state participate to commit to ensuring the sustainability of agriculture. Maine’s farming industry gives back to their communities by inviting guests to their farms and businesses.

Open Farm Day is a “choose your own adventure” with education for all ages. Visitors meet the people of Aroostook agriculture–Aroostook’s farmers and the businesses who support them. Many farms have demonstrations, displays, farm-raised products for sale and animals and crops to experience. Activities include barn and field tours, milking, hay rides, nature trails, beautiful scenery, and samples for tasting and refreshments.

Aroostook Hops

12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tours of MOFGA certified-organic hops plants growing to 18′ tall trellis in 4 acres of hopyard.  Hops are harvested in late summer-early fall, but demonstrations of the mechanical harvester, hop oast (dryer), pelletizer, and packaging available.  Products (hop pellets, Beery Hoppy handmade soap, pint glasses, hats, t-shirts, keychains) available to buy on-site or online.

Circle B Farms

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come ready for fun! Commercial blueberry operation, apple orchard and vegetable farm. Highbush Blueberries ready for you pick. Walking tours of the farm; learn where to buy our products year-round. Farm is open from late July to October 30 for harvest. Learn what we do we keep our food products safe and healthy for you.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our 128-acre farm with breathtaking views of the Swedish colony countryside is home to our Romney sheep and chickens. Our farm store is stocked with homemade, healthy, wholesome preserves, maple syrup, and all cuts of lamb. Come and enjoy samples of the many products produced here on the farm.

Chicken $#!^ Bingo (yes  that’s a thing) to play.  Come for a fun outing!

Vegetables and our own strawberry jam will be available for purchase at the farm stand, Complimentary ice cream with strawberries.
