Brewer High School senior Ryder Goodwin set school history Tuesday afternoon. He signed his National Letter of Intent with Division II American International College (AIC) to play lacrosse next year. Goodwin becomes the first Brewer student athlete to compete at the Division II level in lacrosse.
AIC is located in Springfield, Massachusetts and the Yellow Jackets play in the New England 10 Conference.
Goodwin quarterbacked the Witches football team and plays on the basketball team, coached by his father Ben Goodwin. But the sport of lacrosse is the sport Ryder fell in love with and will take his talents to the D-II level.
In his senior season back in the spring, Goodwin led the Witches to an 11-3 record and their first ever playoff win. He scored 43 goals, 22 assists, 78 ground balls and won 75% of his faceoffs.
Goodwin was named 2022 Brewer High School Player of the Year and was named All-Conference in the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference (KVAC).
He plans to study business management at AIC.
