Houlton/GHCA runners finish strong in first meet

The Houlton/GHCA cross-country team hosted the first Aroostook League Meet of the season. “Although it was quite hot, all the runners did amazing and our Houlton/GHCA athletes did quite well,” said Coach Chris Rines.

Teams in attendance were Houlton/GHCA, MSSM, and Fort Kent.  On the boy’s side, MSSM won the meet with a score of 27.  Houlton was second with 29.  Fort Kent did not have enough boys for team scoring.
Leanne Ross went back and forth with this Fort Kent runner throughout the race, she would go on to hold off Fort Kent’s Tanguay for second place overall.
The Houlton/GHCA girls went uncontested in the team results as both Fort Kent and MSSM did not have enough runners to score team points.
