Houlton, Maine – October 23, 2023 – Northern Maine Media, Inc., the parent company of WHOU 100.1 FM and WHOU.live, is delighted to announce the newest addition to our team, Mr. Isaac Potter. Isaac joins us as a valuable asset in our mission to provide top-notch coverage of high school sports and events throughout the State of Maine.
Isaac Potter, a Houlton native and a graduate of Greater Houlton Christian Academy, has a deep-rooted connection to the region. He graduated from Husson University in the fall of 2022, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications with a concentration in Sports Journalism. During his time at Husson, Isaac made a significant impact by working with the Husson Sports Information Department, where he honed his skills as a sports broadcaster. His dedication to his craft was evident as he passionately called games for the university’s athletic teams.
Isaac further expanded his experience by working with Dale Duff in the Bangor area for WHOU, showcasing his versatility by providing color commentary for various University of Maine sports teams, including hockey, baseball, and softball. His commitment to delivering high-quality sports coverage quickly made him a respected figure in Maine’s sports journalism landscape.
After completing his studies, Isaac returned to Aroostook County, a testament to his love for the area. For the past year, he has served as a Multimedia Journalist at WAGM TV in Presque Isle, Maine, where he continued to demonstrate his dedication to covering local stories and events.
Fred Grant, the owner of Northern Maine Media, Inc., expressed his enthusiasm about Isaac’s arrival, saying, “We are thrilled to have Isaac Potter join our team at WHOU. Isaac Potter is equally excited about this opportunity, stating, “I am extremely excited to get to work! I have a love and passion for covering sports, and look forward to the opportunity to bring that passion to the area. Fred and the WHOU team are very committed to bringing the best local sports coverage, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team as we continue to expand our coverage throughout the state.”
