Kenduskeag Canoe Race Canceled

Race Off For First Time In 54 Years

The 54th Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race has been cancelled due to the ongoing concerns of the coronavirus spread. The race was scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 18th.

The 16.5 mile race begins in Kenduskeag and finishes in downtown Bangor. The race draws paddlers from all over the U.S. and Canada.

Last year, the race drew 842 paddlers in 454 canoes and kayaks.

Over the 53 years of the race, the total number of paddlers is 37,385 (20,615 craft).

While the race has been delayed and the course shortened at times, this marks the first time it has ever been cancelled.

NOTE: All of the canoe races on the MaCKRO Series leading up to the Kenduskeag Stream Race have also been cancelled. For a full list of the races and updated info, Click here Maine Canoe&Kayak Racing Organization
