Manuel Scores Amateur Golf Title

Brunswick Golfer Keeps Racking Up Wins

19-year-old Brunswick golfer Caleb Manuel is 2021 Maine State Amateur Golf Champion, firing a 2-under par 68 in the final round at historic Kebo Valley Golf Club in Bar Harbor Thursday afternoon. His three day total of 211 bested runner-up Will Kannegieser by one shot.

It is the second tournament win of the season for Manuel. He captured the Downeast Metro Amateur Championship (Bangor Municipal GC, Kebo Valley CC) back in June.

Manuel will be a sophomore at the University of Connecticut in the fall. He was named Freshman of the Year in the Big East Conference last year.

His golf resume continues to grow with the Maine State Amateur title. Manuel is a two-time schoolboy state champion from his days at Mt. Ararat High School. He won the Maine State Junior Golf Championship in 2020. In May of 2020, he smashed the Brunswick Golf Course record, shooting a 13-under par 59 and breaking the course record by 7 shots.
