Old Town High School longtime coach Rod White has been named top coach in the nation in girls outdoor track and field. The National Federation of State High School Associations has selected White for the coveted honor.
White is a member of the Old Town HS Hall of Fame Class of 2015 with over 30 years of coaching service to Old Town sports.
He was named head coach for track at Old Town in 1988 and added the cross country head coach title in 1995. White’s teams have won 12 Eastern Maine titles and two state titles.
It is the first time any Old Town HS coach has won a NFHS national coach of the year honor.
