Orono’s Bell Wins Class C State Golf

2021 High School Golf Championships

The first high school fall sports championship for 2021 is in the books. The team and individual golf championships were held at Natanis GC in Vassalboro on Friday and Saturday.

Orono High School’s Clarice Bell was the lone champion from northern Maine.She fired a 90 to claim the Class C Girls Individual title. George Fahey from Waynflete HS won the Boys title (73).

CLASS C TEAM CHAMPION:  Kents Hill (332). Houlton finished in 5th place, Dexter 6th, Orono 7th.

In Class B, Freeport’s Eli Spaulding fired a 4-under par 68 to win the Boys Individual Championship. Leavitt’s Jade Haylock (83) won the Girls Individual Championship.

CLASS B TEAM CHAMPION:  Yarmouth (322). Hermon finished in a tie for 4th place, MDI 8th, Presque Isle 9th.

In Class A, South Portland’s Lucas Flaherty (72) and Noble HS golfer Cheyenne Coture (85) won Individual Championships.

CLASS A TEAM CHAMPION:  Falmouth (315). Hampden finished in 8th place.
