For the second straight year, The Bowdoin College women’s basketball team can earn a spot in the Division III final four and never leave the Brunswick campus in the process.
After scoring two NCAA playoff wins last weekend, the (27-2) Polar Bears will host the Sectional Rounds for the ‘Sweet 16’ and ‘Elite 8’ on Friday and Saturday on their campus.
Bowdoin will play Trine (Indiana) on Friday while Whitman (Washington) plays Oglethorpe (Georgia) in the other sectional game.
The two winners meet Saturday for the right to go to the D-III final four.
Coach Andrienne Shibles and her Polars Bears are tryng to get to the NCAA title game for a third straight year.
Bowdoin is ranked #2 in the nation in the weekly Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll.
