Donovan Earns National Honor

Island Falls Native on Nat'l Team of the Week

Husson University sophomore center Bailey Donovan had a record-shattering performance last weekend in the Eagles first game of season, scoring 34 and hauling down 20 rebounds vs UMaine Presque Isle.

Now Donovan has been named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for her efforts.

D3hoops has recognized Division-III players for 24 years and the best of the best each week earn a spot on the Team of the Week. She joins players from schools in Wisconsin, New Jersey, Illinois and Minnesota on the all star team.

Donovan, a native of Island Falls, pumped in 34 points and recorded 20 rebounds, making her the first player to do that in Husson program history. The Eagles beat UMPI 74-50.

Donovan had a stellar high school career at Hampden Academy and last year she was named Rookie of the Year in the North Atlantic Conference, averaging 14.5 ppg and 10.3 rpg as the Eagles on their fifth straight BAC title. Donovan was the national D-III leader in field goal percentage, shooting at a 64.5% clip.

This year Husson is playing a six game schedule against programs within Maine. The next game on the schedule is March 6th against UMaine Farmington.
