Rossignol Returns To Van Buren As AD

Hoops Hall of Famer Back With Crusaders

Who says you can’t go home again.

Matt Rossignol, the iconic Van Buren basketball player from the 1980’s is returning to his alma mater as athletic director.

Van Buren’s school board approved Rossignol as a teacher and AD at a meeting on Thursday.

Rossignol scored over 2,200 points for the Crusaders. He went on to play at UMaine where he scored over 1,200 points for the Black Bears.

His daughter, Parise, also scored 2,000 points at Van Buren. She went on to play at UMaine and is currently an assistant coach for the Black Bears women’s team.

One of Rossignol’s sons, Andre, recently was named varsity boys soccer coach at Caribou.

Matt started his coaching career at Houlton High School. For the past two decades he has coached and taught at Madawaska High School.

Rossignol is a 2016 inductee of the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame.
