Long Time Houton Businessman – Robert “Bob” Kitchen

Robert E. Kitchen Obituary

LINNEUS – Robert E. Kitchen, 81, died January 25, 2015, in Bangor.  He was born April 24, 1933, in Weston, the son of Willard and Inez (Rollins) Kitchen.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Shenandoah. He was the co-owner of Kitchen’s Garage for 44 years, a member of the Houlton Lions Club, the Oddfellows and the Linneus Snosled Club.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria (Bradeen) Kitchen of Linneus; 5 children, Inez McLean of Easton, Wanda Kitchen of Houlton, Sandra Sanders and her husband, Gary, of Linneus, Bruce Kitchen and his wife, Mary, of Hodgdon and Brent Kitchen and his wife, Jeannie, of Baileyville, NC; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, especially granddaughter, Blanche and Patrick Russell; a sister, Barbara Truran of Guilford; and several special friends, Mike and Kim Folson and Sonny and Diane Folson.  He was predeceased by his parents; 2 sons, Robert Jr and Michael; a daughter, Deborah; sisters, Violet and Dorothy; and brother, John.

Friends may call 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
