Streams Inks ‘Letter of Commitment’

Bangor HS Standout Is UMaine Basketball Bound

It was a day Bangor High School senior Emmie Streams had been waiting for – the day to sign her ‘letter of commitment’ to play basketball next year for coach Amy Vachon and the UMaine Black Bears.

At Red Barry Gymnasium and in front of family and teammates, the 5-foot-5 senior point guard signed the paperwork that will make her a ‘recruited walk-on’ next year for the Black Bears.

Streams is a three-sport standout for the Rams. Along with running the point for the basketball team, averaging 10 PPG, 5 APG, she also was the leading scorer for the Rams soccer team, as well as catcher and leadoff hitter for the Rams softball team.

Streams suffered an ankle sprain in her soccer team’s playoff loss two weeks ago but should be ready to go for the hoops season.

Bangor basketball opens the Class AA  basketball schedule with a home game vs Cheverus on December 9th.
