THE SPRINGFIELD FAIR

Get Ready! Here Comes The Springfield Fair!

While we may be limited on carnival attractions in 2017, we have loads of great entertainment for young and old. We continue to try and line up rides & games after Cushing Amusements decided, last minute, that they would not honor our agreement to provide a traditional midway. Being handed lemons and then making lemonade – our carnival theme for 2017. We will make the best of a tough situation and hope that all of you will help us to celebrate the 167th Springfield Fair in grand fashion.

Fortunately, we had already contracted with more attractions than in the past years. On Friday night, we will have the Pine Tree Mini Tractor Pulls – an event that has not been in Springfield since the early 90’s. Admission is only $7 per person. Saturday pricing is only $5 for ages 3-15 and $10 for ages 16 + older. Sunday is $5 for ages 3-15 and $15 for 16 + older PLUS, it includes the Adam Wakefield concert starting at 6:15pm. Monday is $5 for ages 3-15 and $10 for 16 + older. This is Demolition Derby Day!

We have special pricing for certain groups for the following days: Friday is military night – no charge with your military ID. Thank you for your service to our country. We are grateful for your sacrifice. Sunday is Police Recognition Day. Any US law enforcement officer showing their badge at the gate will be admitted free of charge. Thank you also for your on-going service to our state and communities. And Monday is Senior Citizen’s Day. All “seniors” 62 & older will be admitted at no charge.

Truck pulls will again run on Saturday Sept 2nd starting at 3:30. Lots of fun for kids on Children’s Day with the bicycle giveaway at noon. And remember – Danforth’s own Moose Maine-iah Monster Truck rides will be on hand all weekend. Sunday features VOICE runner-up Country Music Star – Adam Wakefield performing on the Moores family stage at 7:30. Special guest Travis Humphrey opens the show at 6:15. New this year is an on-going sheep shearing demonstration along with Mutton Bustin’, pig scramble and eel racing. Monday sees the return of the demolition derby to close out the fair. The derby starts at 3pm and is followed by our very own giant prize giveaway. We have a gorgeous Buick Skylark, spit shined and ready for you. Bill Soucie scoured the country side looking for just the right vehicle to be given away at the fayuh!
